I am a motivated Software Developer working in an agile environment to create responsive, cross platform applications. My attitude towards the work I undertake is energetic, innovative and above all else professional.

Working Life

Barclays Bank Plc
2014 - Present

Contracting Software Developer

As a Developer at Barclays I have worked on a variety of applications used throughout the bank. A recent transition to Agile methodology has resulted in me focusing solely on one application. I use frameworks and technologies such as Eclipse, Spring, Stash, & Git. I support the team by writing clear, understandable code using Test Driven Development to help maintain code quality. I have learnt a lot since joining Barclays and hope my skills continue to develop into the future.

FDM Group
2013 - 2014

Software Developer

FDM is a consultancy group that offer industry standard training in Java application development. They also offer the opportunity to work for some of the biggest companies both within the UK and the rest of the world. This was my first role after leaving university and while training I was able to secure a contract at one of FDM's biggest clients, Barclays Bank Plc.

Liverpool John Moores University
2010 - 2013

Information Technology & Multimedia Computing

The degree I studied at Liverpool John Moores University was primarily focused on two programming languages. Flash (ActionScript) & Visual Basic. Although throughout the course I learned a lot about these two languages I was more intrigued by the Java, Photoshop and Web Design modules. I was able to apply my knowledge acquired at university to design some simplistic Android applications and some basic websites. This lead me to Wordpress and the possibilities of designing dynamic websites.

This Website!

This website has been build from scratch using Bootstrap, jQuery, HTML5 & CSS3. I developed it to be responsive so it looks good on any device.

Equivalent Fractions Mini-Game

I built this on demand as there was no available resource to use in a primary school maths lesson on Equivalent Fractions. The alternative would be to print and cut out loads of cards for the kids to use. As this is responsive the students were able to use the schools iPads instead.
